It was truly an honor to share this unforgettable evening with you at the Wings To Freedom Foundation Inaugural Gala and to witness the extraordinary work that you and your team are carrying out with such compassion, courage, and unwavering commitment.
After our phone conversation and listening to your inspiring personal testimony, I gained an even deeper appreciation for the significance of your mission and the strength that drives it. I simply could not let this moment pass without publicly recognizing your remarkable leadership and expressing my admiration for the work you are doing to restore hope, dignity, and new opportunities to those who need them most.
As a heartfelt expression of my support and collaboration with this noble cause, I am pleased to share with you the link to the Gratitude Chronicles article I have written about this memorable evening. Some events are remembered for their flawless organization, while others are remembered for the lasting impact they create. Only on rare occasions do both elements converge to give birth to a legacy that transcends time. The Wings To Freedom Foundation Inaugural Gala was one of those extraordinary moments.

Far more than a charitable gala, the evening marked the beginning of an international movement reaffirming every person’s fundamental right to live with dignity, safety, and hope. Its purpose was clear: to inspire collective action, strengthen strategic partnerships, and create meaningful opportunities for women, children, and families who have survived domestic violence and intimate partner violence.
Más que una gala benéfica, la velada marcó el nacimiento de un movimiento internacional que reafirma el derecho de toda persona a vivir con dignidad, seguridad y esperanza. Su propósito fue claro: movilizar voluntades, fortalecer alianzas y generar oportunidades reales para mujeres, niños y familias sobrevivientes de violencia doméstica y violencia de pareja.
The gala brought together government officials, institutional leaders, business executives, nonprofit organizations, healthcare professionals, philanthropists, and human rights advocates, demonstrating that meaningful social transformation is only possible when leadership is rooted in collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to the common good.

More than an institutional recognition, the medal symbolizes the transformative power of service and honors those who turn compassion into meaningful action capable of changing lives.

Among those recognized were Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, honored for advancing public policies and services supporting victims of violence; Florida State Representative Dr. Marie Woodson, a respected advocate for legislative leadership and multicultural communities; Miami-Dade County Commissioner Marliene Bastien; City of Miramar Commissioner Maxwell Chambers; Sherea Green, Director of the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department; Dr. Ivon Mesa, Senior Advisor to the Department’s Director; Dr. Marie Etienne, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Innovative Foundation; and family attorney Cristóbal Padrón, each recognized for their unwavering commitment to strengthening communities and advancing human dignity.

The ceremony was masterfully hosted by Dr. Griselle Marino, whose elegance, professionalism, and warmth added a profound human dimension to every moment of the evening. The arts also played an essential role through the extraordinary performance of internationally acclaimed composer and performer Edward Mena, whose music served as a reminder that hope is often expressed through the universal language of art.
Another memorable highlight was the presentation of the Vanguard Award for Advocacy and Emotional Intelligence, an honor celebrating leadership founded on empathy, emotional intelligence, and an enduring commitment to defending human dignity qualities essential for building resilient communities and more just societies.
The Wings To Freedom Foundation Inaugural Gala did more than celebrate achievements; it solidified a shared vision for the future. Alejandra Fuentes had the honor of sharing this memorable occasion with Dr. Rachel Tourgeman, Founder of Powerhouse Workshops & Consulting, LLC; Francesco Duberli, Chief Executive of Survivors Pathway Organization, an organization committed to advancing initiatives that support survivors and promote their holistic recovery; and Mari C. Rodriguez, President of IMAN’S LIGHT FOUNDATION, an organization devoted to providing hope, support, and essential resources to individuals and families facing highly vulnerable circumstances.

As the author of this historical chronicle, I believe that communication carries the responsibility of preserving the memory of the events that transform societies. Documenting initiatives such as this is a way of honoring those who lead with purpose while ensuring that their example continues to inspire future generations of changemakers.
At Comunidad FVE, this mission is reflected in the creation of comprehensive educational programs, strategic social communication initiatives, and international leadership projects dedicated to developing individuals capable of creating sustainable impact within their communities while contributing to a more conscious, collaborative, and compassionate world.
History is not written solely by those who hold positions of authority. It is also shaped by those who choose to serve with integrity, inspire through example, and dedicate their lives to a purpose greater than themselves.
